How to cut bodies in photoshop using refine edge tool

Step: 1

Drag the desired photo to photoshop, to extract the the person from the photo do some rough selection to the image.

You can use and see lots of selection tools from tools panel toolbar, the best and easiest selection tool for this kind of selection is quick selection tool. It will save your time and will do it faster than others.

In the top sub menu active the add to selection option and to your selection drag the brush over the hair. If by mistake you have done something wrong which you don't wanted to do. You can fix it by press and hold ALT key.

Step: 2

After you have done your rough selection than go to top of the sub menu of quick selection tool than choose refine edge tool. It will help you to give you  best  and easiest selection as  shown the selection in the picture below.

You have to change the view mode, change the view mode which makes you feel comfortable to look  around the selection. If you want to see that what is missing and how to fix that then overlay is best choice. If you want to get a clean and clear cut selection then use a black and a white background it will show the clearness of your selection, so you can make your selection more perfect.

Step: 3

For this selection we will use the white color background to make some improvement in the photo. As shown in the given image.

Step: 4

Now refine the selection which you have done in the step 3. Go to dialog box of refine edge, on the top you will see edge detection. Now set the radius slider to 60% or you can try the option radius layer mask in the right panel of smooth radius tools.

Step: 5

For making the hair more smooth and clear, you have to use the best drawing brush tool  which you will find in built in refine edge radius. Brush the hair line very carefully to fix and select any missing areas around the hair edges.

If you have done something wrong with your refining, then you can fix it by hold and press shift + E it will let you use a erase brush tool. It will help you to fix the unwanted refining.

Step: 6

Take a look at adjust layers sliders and finally you have done everything perfectly in your selection.

To create more realistic look and to soften the edge of this selection, you have to use the feather slider. To remove the glowing edges against light color or white color backgrounds selection then use the shift edge tool.

Step: 7

Reduce the halo effect in the picture, to replace the pixels you will see the web colors option the colors panel. It will give you great improvement on your cut outs.

Step: 8

If you want to improve the the edge effect of your selection the use the amount slider which is around layer panel.

Step: 9
